How To Use

Use in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

  1. Thoroughly clean and dry surface from oil, dirt and grease with mineral turps. Allow to dry completely before applying silicone.
  2. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge, cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge then insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as Selleys Light Speed Caulking gun.
  3. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply with steady pressure, ensuring sealant is pushed into the joint. Important: Product will skin over in 5 min.
  4. For a smooth finish, tool with a spatula dipped in detergent water within 5 minutes of application.
  5. Clean up excess sealant before sealant skins (5 minutes) with mineral turps.

        Limitations:

  • Not paintable. Complete painting 7 days prior to applying sealant.
  • Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene or Teflon. Pre-test plastics before use
  • Not suitable for building materials that bleed oils or solvents, such as impregnated wood
  • Not for aquariums or contact with food, eating utensils or drinking water

Handy Tips

  • For neater joints, mask sides before applying sealant and remove tape before sealant skins.
  • When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant.
  • Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins.
  • Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface, may result so working in sections allows for a better finish.

Clean Up

  • Uncured product may be removed with mineral turps.
  • Cured product can be removed with Selleys Silicone Remover or by
    cutting and scraping.
